Founded in the 1940s by twelve impoverished weavers who banded together out of necessity to make ends meet by producing a pair of traditional local women’s dress, the Bhutti Weavers Co-operative Society is a multiple award winning and presently a leading producer of traditional Himalayan garments, particularly of Himachal’s flagship product the Kullu Shawl. As well as an institution in its own right that grooms younger generations in the art of weaving and works to preserve the culture of the Himalayan hinterland.

The main production facility of the society is located at Bhutti Colony Industrial Area, Shamshi, Kullu, Himachal India. The colony comprises of the head office of the society, production facility and residence of the weavers and management as well as showrooms for procuring traditional Himalayan garments.

Showrooms: Bhuttico has a total of 33 outlets in India with a majority to be found in Himachal. The society’s current range boasts of high quality traditional garments ranging from brightly patterned and decorated with motifs Himalayan mufflers, socks, jackets, stoles and caps to more intrinsically designed men and women’s shawls as well as the traditional women’s dress the Doru and Pattu. The range also includes wool based Nehru jackets, shirts, ponchos, gloves, scarfs, coats and Tweed meterage.

Wool used is Pure Pashmina, Merino, Angora, local sheep wool as well as blends.
