History: Believed to have been commissioned by the Afghan king, Sher Shah Sur in 1541 A.D., during his occupation of Dinpanah. The Qila-i-Kuhna Mosque is a product of Indo-Islamic architecture and one of the few surviving monuments that can still be seen inside the citadel of Humayun's city. The mosque gets its name from a nearby well (Kuhna). To know a little more about the mosque, see the Farbound.Net snippet: Pathans, they build like giants and finish like goldsmiths.
