History: Kubera, the Vedic lord of wealth, has been traditionally portrayed with a nice round potbelly since the time of his creation at the hands of the master sculptors of Mathura. The artistic presentation is based on a sculpture from the 2nd century B.C., and originally produced in a brickish red colour.
