History: This Greetings Card/Independence Day Card/Celebratory Card for commemorating historical people and the Indian Independence Movement, features a photoart presentation of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar. Born on the 28th of May in 1883 Ce, Savarkar was an Indian extremist, and Indian revolutionary and an Indian political activist. He was also a prolific writer, a leading member of the Hindu Mahasabha and a passionate advocate of Hinduvata. Among his many works, both political and reform-oriented, is the political literature, The First War of Indian Independence - which reinterpreted the Mutiny of 1857 as a War of Freedom. Savarkar's path of gaining Indian independence, sometimes by means of force, made him a firebrand in the eyes of the British India Government. In his autobiography, which he wrote under a pen name, Savarkar described himself as Veer Savarkar (Brave savarkar). Though not a celebrated member, Savarkar was a part of the Indian Freedom Movement.
