History: Located on the Mathura Road (New Delhi, India) and close to the citadel of Dinpanah. The Khair-ul-Manzil was an educational centre built in the 15th Century. Its sponsoring benefactor, Maham Agna, was the wet nurse of the third Gurkani emperor Jalal-ud-din Muhammad Akbar (see Farbound.Net snippet: Built by a woman prime minister of the Mughal court). During the time of its construction and for many years, the education centre with an attached mosque was located within the walls of the city of Dinpanah of which the present citadel formed a part. The mosque continues to be in use for worship. Kept open by the orders of the Delhi High Court (see Farbound.Net snippet: Once Revered. Always Revered).
