History: Annette Susannah Beveridge was a British social reformer, a women's rights activist and a scholar. In 1873, she founded the Hindu Mahila Vidyala, a school that provided girls with the same level of education as boys. Later, she became the first scholar to translate into English the Humayu-Nama. A biography of the Gurkani emperor Naseer-ud-din Baig Muhammad Khan Humayun, penned by his half-sister Gulbadan Begum. Prior to her translation of the document, the manuscript was only available in Persian and Turki. Annette also translated the Babur-nama, the autobiography of Babur. To know more about Annette's translation of the Humayun-nama, see the Farbound.Net story: When women meet after eons.
